I couldn’t really bring myself to have a strong opinion on the Jessica Roy thing for a while. I (like everyone else) had a good laugh over what’s surely now an incredibly tired topic, which, for the record, was never about this specific person. It was about the idea of this bright, intelligent young person who found themselves enveloped in this literary scene she had sought out, and...

Somewhere in the New York offices of the company formerly known as Lehman Brothers, there is a conference room in dire need of some plaster. This is likely not a priority for the top Lehman brass or the government or Barclay’s or whoever is now in charge of this sort of thing, but the plaster would be used to fill the numerous giant holes created when a prized six foot long scale model of a...

(via katiebakes) Daniel Kwon, 22, a student from Berlin, said he had heard about BoltBus from his brother: “He said it was actually cleaner than the other buses. Not only does it have Wi-Fi, it arrives on time. I am German,” he said, with a laugh, “so I believe transportation should be punctual.” From a Jewish guy, presented without comment. How about KATIE BAKES READS THE NEW YORK TIMES?

Kenny Shopsin on Conan O’Brian is kind of classic, and everything I hoped for. Kenny didn’t get censored once! I have no doubt in my mind they gave him a decent speaking to before going on air. They made the Mac & Cheese pancakes, the PB & J Pancakes, and something called the “Conan Burger.” Even the infamous menu got some airtime. All in all, impressive.

Of course they did. Not that the album isn’t good - it’s great - but I’ve got one slight problem with it no reviewer would dare tap into (because they’re reviewers): there’s no entry point, there’s no accessibility.
