Awesome. But this raises that same, familiar question: what the fuck is “indie rock” anyway, especially after mainstream culture adopts it? Can’t we just get back to calling it “alternative”? There’s nothing independent about a DFA album anymore, aside from its “independence” from mainstream labels, which are going the way of the Utterly Fucked Dinosaur.
